Jackie has been with the CMR Nashville team since May 2008. She is delighted to take on her new role as Presenter of the "Country Café" every Saturday between 10am-midday.
Jackie’s radio experience is considerable and goes back many years. Like a lot of Presenters her first words behind the microphone were in hospital radio: Kirkcaldy’s Victoria Radio Network.
Growing up in a musical family, Jackie always wanted to be a singer. However due to a rather unexpected twist of fate, she found herself in radio instead. As an aspiring teenager, she was interviewed on her local station about her thoughts on country music. Unknown to Jackie, the Programme Director was listening in and thought she had a great speaking voice. He offered her a Presenters job.
For the next 12 years she hosted her own radio shows throughout the UK and Europe, including 3 years as Programme Director with Island Sound Radio in Malta. Her Breakfast Show was heard by over a million tourists every year and she was affectionately dubbed "The English speaking voice of the Nation." One of her greatest memories was interviewing the late Hollywood Legend Charlton Heston.
In 1998 Jackie finally hung up her headphones and made her way to London where she signed up with an Entertainment Agency. Her desire to be a singer had never really left and it was a case of now or never!! Her first Professional singing job was a 6-month cruise around the Caribbean (It was a tough job! but someone had to do it!!). Jackie honed her skills abroad and many a song-writing idea was inspired from her travels. By the time she came home in 2005 she had sung in over 42 countries and had a song for almost every new experience! She had also met and married her husband & song-writing partner, Steve Thiebault.
Jackie’s latest CD "Cross The Border" features many of their original songs, plus her #1 single "Ace Of Spades" (the reworking of Motorhead’s signature tune!!)
Nowadays her main efforts are concentrated on singing and song writing. However, she recently dusted off her old headphones after being asked to host a show on Smooth Radio 105.2fm.
