Megan McCormick's "Raw, Sexy" “Shiver” Shines On "Emotionally Eclectic" (Relix) Debut

30/07/2010

Nashville Scene calls Megan McCormick "an affecting singer, a deep and nuanced songwriter, and a musical polyglot who can rock out too.” The "raw, sexy" (Relix) "Shiver," the opening track from her album 'Honest Words,' out August 17th from Ryko, is a perfect example. It showcases a guitar sound that recalls Stevie Ray Vaughan, a slippery 5/4 rhythm and McCormick's "gorgeous and powerful voice somewhere between Ann Wilson and Bonnie Raitt" (Country Music Pride) in a down-and-dirty song of obsession and addiction that never lets up.

American Songwriter says Megan is "the complete picture, with great songs, a great voice, and a cool haircut," while Relix magazine says her sound "blurs the lines between blues, rock, and alternative-country."
