NASHVILLE, Tenn. – (July 6, 2017) – As one of the biggest stars in the universe goes dark on Monday, August 21 during the historic Total Eclipse 2017, the Grand Ole Opry will bring out some of music’s biggest stars to brighten one of the most famous stages in the world. The Opry, positioned to be in the direct path of the Total Eclipse, will celebrate the historic event with a special Sunday Night Opry show August 20 featuring reigning CMA and ACM vocal group of the year Little Big Town as well as Darius Rucker, Wynonna, and more. The Opry eclipse celebration is set to continue the next day with a free Total Eclipse Plaza Party combining the signature sounds of Nashville with the historic sight of the total eclipse. Guests can expect live music on the Plaza stage, commemorative gifts and eclipse glasses, and an array of themed food and drink, including BBQ and specialty eclipse cocktails. The Opry will feature a one-of-a-kind Nashville Total Eclipse soundtrack to accompany the approximately two minutes of eclipse totality. Also marking the total eclipse, Opry House Backstage Tours including an August 20 post-show tour and tours throughout the day August 21 are set to recognize Opry artists whose career achievements have eclipsed all others in the field. The Opry was named the Top Attraction in U.S. by Trip Advisor for Spring 2017 and was ranked in USA Today last month as Trip Advisor’s top-rated attraction in Tennessee.
