Pete Hunt and the Southern Branded Band to play June 2 at SOSMP

Pete Hunt and the Southern Branded Band will bring a new sound and new experience to the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park (SOSMP) Saturday, June 2, when they entertain in the Music Hall.Pete Hunt is no stranger to the music business. He grew up with a father who was a singer, entertainer and recording artist touring the country as “Tony Vee.” There was always music in the house, and Pete was drawn to it just as his father was. Pete grew up in Texas, played football for USC and after a stint on Wall Street, Pete came home to his beloved Florida and started his band, “Southern Branded,” from his home in Brooksville. It became one of the hottest country bands locally. Through a mutual friend Pete met producer Andy Anderson with Treasure Isle Recorders in Nashville, home of Jason Aldean, Montgomery Gentry, Trace Atkins and so many more. Andy and Pete decided to do Pete’s first major recorded album entitled Alligator Alley in June 2011. The album was released in the fall of 2011 by Blue Ridge Records, recorded and tracked in studio “A” and completed in Studio “B” at Treasure Isle Records in Nashville. Pete Hunt is the front man/lead vocalist and rhythm guitar. He has traveled the states playing with different bands and solo acts until he created Southern Branded; which now plays all over the United States. Pete has a strong country side to him, but also sings and plays Caribbean Country Style, Southern Rock, Classic Rock & a little Blues. You don’t want to miss this band that is new to this area. Pete’s butter smooth, country rock, voice is reminiscent of greats like Ray Price and Jim Reeves but has a cutting edge as well in step with the country rock feel of today’s country.
