Lisa Matassa New Country Radio Single Set For "7th Feb

15/02/2012

Rising country music star and industry veteran Lisa Matassa’s highly anticipated debut country album, Sunrise Highway, may not be hitting stores till this Spring but you can hear what they are all talking about when the album’s next single “Wouldn’t You Like To Know” impacts country radio nationwide on February 27th.

2011 was an incredible year for this wife and mother of two children as she gained thousands of fans nationally and internationally with the successful release of her first country single, “Me Time.” This critically acclaimed single soared up the country charts, having broken through the Billboard Indicator Charts and securing the #1 video spot on CMT.com.

Produced by two-time Grammy nominated producer Bobby Guy Graziose, “Wouldn’t You LikeTo Know” is an inspired guitar-driven track that fuses rock and roll with country. The single will give radio listeners a taste of what they can expect when Sunrise Highway is released to stores this March 21 (It Is What It Is Records/Nine North Records).

“I bring a unique perspective to my music now,” expresses Lisa.  “Not many mothers with teenagers embark on a recording career later in life.  There’s a lot more country in America outside of Nashville,” states Matassa.  “Having grown up in New York and in South Florida, and having raised a family in Long Island, I’ve had a lot of cultural and musical influences in addition to traditional country music.”

Lisa Matassa’s life is the ultimate comeback story. From the little girl with a big voice and even bigger dreams, to an emerging signed dance-pop sensation, this Long Island wife and mother of two teenagers garnered success at the age of 19 when she signed with Emergency Records and released two singles, 1987’s “I’ve Got The Hots For You” and 1988’s “Rock Me Baby.”  Both singles gained national and international airplay and reached the Top 10 on the Dance Music Charts.  Lisa eventually put her music career on the backburner to become a wife and mother but that fire inside of her to perform never died. Now, this 40-something with a powerful voice and stunning good looks is conquering the music scene yet again.
